Speaker Topics Combining a love of tea with the gift of gab, Pam Richardson has developed several programs suitable for presentation to a variety of different organizations. Here are some of the topics we have offered. Teas around the World Join us for an adventurous time as we travel the globe tasting teas from around the world. From China we'll taste a Citron Green then Japan brings us Genmaicha. Sri Lanka and India produce some of the most delicious teas so Ceylon and Darjeeling are a must. Does the US produce any tea? Not that we'll be tasting but I'll answer the question at our event. No tea tasting is complete without a sweet treat or two so be prepared for scones with just a dab of curd! One Plant ~ Four Teas ~ How Can That Be? We've heard about black teas, then it was green, now it's white and what about this red tea I keep hearing about? Where do the Oolongs fit in here? Learn how one plant, the Camellia Sinensis, turns into four different teas. Fermentation, oxidation, processing, locations and elevations will all be addressed in this presentation on tea. A History of Tea We start at the very beginning and bring you into current day tea trends. From the 1600's through the Boston Tea Party up to today's tea drinking trends. Great for DAR organizations Tea Etiquette Pinky's out? Let's face it, tea can be intimidating! We'll introduce you to all the different kinds of tea time accoutrements and teach you how to use them. Then we'll take tea and enjoy a relaxing "cuppa" tea! High teas aren't just for royalty, in fact they never were! Learn more about the misconceptions surrounding In Hot Water's favorite beverage. This is a great lecture for Brownie and other Girl Scout troop meetings. Book Club Tea This presentation can be adapted to meet your book clubs needs. Reading a book that is set in India, China or Japan? We'll tailor make a tea tasting that enhances your reading experience. Another presentation will introduce you to certain literary characters and their tea preferences. You'll be surprised how many characters take tea and what their favorite kinds of tea are! Parlor Games After cruising on the Mississippi Queen and attending a tea in the Ladies Parlor this presentation was created. We have several tea related games, TEAGO (similar to BINGO) and Cat~TEA~gories, that are lots of fun for all ages. The games alone are great but add a tea, NY style (tea with alcohol) and there's no telling how much fun you & your guests will have. Building a Business I am often asked how I got started & why did I chose tea? For those groups that want to learn more about business than about tea this is for you. Learn what having a name that is trademarked ~ by someone else ~ can do to your business. Why having a "board of directors" is important and what support a mastermind group can provide along with how to use those groups to your benefit. Marketing to the New England Culture After watching the tea business grow other business owners wondered what my secret was. How was I able to tap the very difficult New England market when they struggled? After doing some research I've found some good news and some bad news about the ever changing New England selling environment. The speaking topics offered by In Hot Water! are as varied as our teas. Each one is customized to meet our customers' needs. To discuss inviting us to speak for your organization, please email us at info@inhotwaterteas.com.
